Sometimes https://www.flashmoving.net/local-moving/ hear from potential customers: “We will buy the boxes ourselves…”.
What exactly are the boxes? How many will be needed?
We share our experience in this matter.
1. Provide boxes of different sizes in advance.
Optimal sizes of boxes for moving:
40*30*30*cm – for dishes, books and other heavy and fragile items.
60*40**30 cm – for clothes, bed linen, toys and other light items.
58.5 * 53.5 * 115.0 cm – for transporting clothes on hangers. This method of transportation allows you to place clothes in boxes without removing them from the hanger, and avoid the need to iron them after moving.
Advice. Do not purchase very large boxes: if you fill such a box completely, serious inconvenience may arise:
it will become unbearable for one person – accordingly, the process of removal and loading may be delayed.
the risk increases that the bottom of the box will simply tear, and you will have to, at best, transfer things to a new container, and at worst, things may be damaged.
heavy boxes cannot be stacked on top of each other – the top box can push through the bottom one.
2. Pay attention to the strength of the boxes.
Remember that the weight of the filled box should not exceed 15-20 kg so that it can be carried. When buying a box, specify how much weight they are designed for.
3. Calculate the approximate number of boxes for your move.
We give a guideline: to pack clothes that occupy one shelf of a standard wardrobe with a width of 80-100 cm, you will need 2 boxes 40 * 30 * 30 cm in size or 1-2 boxes 60 * 40 * 30 cm in size.
If you are using a large wardrobe box measuring 58.5*53.5*115.0 cm, plan to place 10-15 hangers with light clothes (shirts, blouses, dresses, etc.) or 7-8 heavy items (outerwear, suits).
Advice. It is better to buy boxes with a margin – the surplus can then be used on the farm, but the lack of material during the moving process can greatly spoil your mood, complicate the fees, and even put the move itself in jeopardy.
